Do you want to sell your patterns?
Are you unsure of layout, terminology or want to finesse that idea that’s in your mind?
Then maybe my pattern editing service is for you!
Simply send me your pattern in a Word document and for a small fee I will go through it, edit it, send you suggestions and help you present a pattern to your customers!
I also ask that in the fine print on your pattern my name is credited as editor.
What I need: Your text in standard Word doc format, plain text – no images (unless required to make sense of text – an example of this would be if you were writing a tutorial and were explaining a new technique).
Alternatively you can send me your patterns as a PDF so I can see what style you want to achieve. I work within your patterns boundaries, with no re-writes or removing your style or personality.
Payment is due upfront. Direct deposit is preferred although PayPal invoice and credit card methods are also available.
NOTE: If I do a first run edit and then you send it back to me for a second/third run etc you will be required to pay a surcharge. This listing is for first run edits only.
I have 10 years of pattern writing experience (over 400 patterns submitted to various craft magazines), 3 years magazine editing/publishing and technical editing experience. I freelance for several small craft businesses including the above services as well as editing web content, creating/writing newsletters and editing blog post/tutorial content. I also consult on craft products, web content and certain aspects of WordPress. I have had legislation editing experience as well.
