Spring Sale!

Hello lovely people!

Just a quick note to say there’s a SALE on in the webstore. Click the store button and shop till your hearts content. All fabric is reduced and pretty much everything else as well. I decided a big spring clean was in order to make the most of the end of the year and streamline things as well as give you all some excellent bargains.

Any queries please don’t hesitate to ask.

Machine quilting is available from October until the 9th of December (last drop off date). Please contact me for a quote, lay-by options and to book.

I’ll be adding a few other things to the webstore in coming months – patterns, pre-made quilts and vouchers for both machine quilting and regular gift vouchers. These are mainly digital items so will need more work to get them uploaded.

In the meantime, happy shopping!

Quilts

Making quilts is something of an obsession with me – not only is it my job but it is the one thing that keeps me going emotionally and mentally when everything else gets a bit mad.

Quilting is my therapy.

But one unfortunate side effect of making so many quilts is the fact that there is no where to keep them all unless I sell them.

So to clear the decks a little, some of my current quilt listings are 40% off, click here to see them.

All quilts are ready to post and are perfect for these cooler, rainy days. Snuggle up on the lounge underneath a handmade quilt.

If you don’t find what you are looking for I also make quilts to order. See here for more info.

Focus shift…

Some things in my life have changed recently and will continue to change in the coming months and in order to cope with these new avenues of opportunity I need to adjust what I’m doing here at Frankenstein’s Fabrics.

So I’m shifting my focus to be more on the machine quilting side of things and less of stocking fabrics and supplies. I will still stock some things and will be happy to order in things for you but there will be less stock.

I’m having a stock clearance with pretty much everything* go at 50% off starting tomorrow (Sunday 12th April) and running until there is nothing left.

I will pop up the code you need for the checkout and then you can start shopping. Payments will be made through Paypal or credit card.

*There will be a list of items included in the 50% off – pending.

Christmas

So the man in the red and white suit will be headed our way shortly (38 days!!) so it’s time for everyone to run around like headless chicken and get gifts, festivities and food sorted out.

I’m here to help 🙂

I have pre-made quilts and quilted items ready to post NOW if you head over to my hand-made store. All you need to do is purchase and it will be winging its way to you in no time at all.

However if you have a person to buy for who is crafty I have a few more options –

1. You could purchase a gift voucher which allows them to purchase the goodies they want/need.

2. You could buy them a selection of fabrics/haberdashery and make up a lovely craft pack.

3. If they quilt but never seem to finish any quilts – get them a machine quilting voucher.

Vouchers are here.

Fabrics are here on the website under the store tab.

Custom orders for the year are CLOSED but I am taking bookings for them for 2015.

Also if you are interested in classes in the new year please head over  and sign up for the newsletter.

I will be updating the webstore shortly so if there is something you are after but can’t see – let me know and I’ll sort it out for you. 🙂

October!

October is by far my favourite month of the year.

It not only has my favourite holiday Halloween but is also the birthday of the shop and this year for the shop’s third birthday I’ll be doing all sorts of wonderful things to celebrate.

Firstly there will be the ongoing competition.

To enter all you need to do is place a mail order (or orders) during the month of October. For every $5 you spend you will receive a numbered ticket. At the end of the month everyone’s numbers will go in my lucky witches hat and I will draw out a winner.

The prize: a $50 gift voucher to spend on fabrics (or it could go towards quilting costs if you prefer), a blue size 16 singlet top that has a screen printed black bat on it that I made in my screen printing class in September and some of my quilt patterns.

I will also be doing an overhaul on the store section of the website – this is more from an inventory standpoint so that all future sales are easier to track. There will be a heap of quilts listed on my hand-made store, all ready to be posted and perfect for Christmas gifts.

We’ve also passed 1000 likes of FB and 100 followers on IG so I’l be doing a little something to celebrate those.

Also if you would like to join in my fabric swap please drop me an email – frankensteinsfabrics@hotmail.com. The cut off date for sign ups was today but life go out of hand so I’m extending it for October.

There will be more details on the competition as well as a picture or two of the singlet top and the patterns etc so stay tuned!

Quilts for sale!

Since moving the shop I’ve found myself rather low on space. It’s always been at a premium but now it’s top priority.

SO

I’m having a massive quilt sale on all the pre-made quilts that I have ready to post.

The quilts are all listed here in a Facebook album and to purchase all you need to do is comment SOLD and message me your email and postal details and choice of payment method (Paypal invoice, credit card over the phone or direct deposit).

There is an assortment of quilts from cot size, to double bed along with a few wallhangings and table runners AND they are all 50% OFF!!

I want these quilts to go to good homes that will use them, throw them on the floor, on the lounge, use them as a picnic rug or even buy one for your favourite furry friend. I put a lot of work into them and I want people to enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them. 🙂

These quilts (with a few exceptions) are ready to post now – you purchase it and I’ll pop it in the mail. These quilts have been made over the past few years, some as recently as a month or so ago.

A few pictures below of some of what’s available.

As I unpack I will load more quilt pictures of what I have available.

And as always if you see something you like but it’s not in your colours or theme I can make a custom order quilt for you. Just get in touch with your ideas. 😀

I’m back!

Hello everyone.

After a small hiatus to get things on track with dad being in hospital I am back in the world of blogs.

Dad is ok – he’s going to be in hospital for a long time with rehab and physio but he is alive and we are very lucky to still have him around.

Seeing as this post is on the last day of September I will catch you up quickly with what happened this month.

  • Competition quilt – early this month I handed in my entry to the NSW Quilter’s Guild competition. The theme was ‘How does your garden grow?’. The quilts are still with the guild and have been on display (now closed), we get the quilts back in December so I will blog about it more then with photos and explanations.
  • Customer order – a friend of my sister’s rang and asked me to make a tree quilt so that at her mother-in-law’s 50th birthday all the members of the family could sign the leaves. There were also several photos featuring the family along the bottom of the tree.

  • Magazine projects – I’ve been working on a couple of things for the magazines. A table runner and placemats for Patchwork and Stitching and an appliqué quilt for Australian Patchwork and Quilting. These pieces will be sent down on Tuesday and then I start working on a few pieces for Handmade.
  • Customer order #2 – St Pius X, Chatswood, is celebrating their 75th anniversary. The children and teachers have made blocks featuring their names and things they like, there is also blocks with the school colour houses, a list of principals and the school prayer. I have been given the task of putting it all together ready for the celebration ceremony in November.
  • Customer #3 – a friend of mine has asked for a quilt with the images of his favourite band’s albums. I’ll achieve this by printing them onto fabric sheets or maybe doing some transfers…
  • UFOs – I have a lovely long list of these, some are a few years old from my pre-shop days. I am slowly working my way through the list. Some will be up for sale, some will go to the magazines as projects and there are a couple that will be donated to charity for fund-raising purposes later this year/early next year.

That pretty much covers September and into October…

Also on the cards at the moment is my favourite time of year…. Halloween. So I’m getting ready for that. 🙂

The shop turns 1 on the 15th of October.

It’s all very exciting to have been in business for a year. I’ll have some special things in store but you’ll have to stay tuned for that. In the mean time make sure you check out the online store as there is 20% off all fabrics until the 15th of October. The discount also applies in store so feel free to pop in and see me.

I’m off to bed now. Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend.

Marni 🙂
